I look at it like this:

When I am at work, I wear my glasses, my boots, and my hard hat. But I still do the work. I wear my earmuffs and my face shield. But I still do the work.

So if that's the case. . . Why would I not use that type of attitude here?

I went and got a heater for my shop today. Not an essential purchase.
Made sure my hands were sanitized, stood a bit further from the counter than usual, and paid with my card. Made sure I didn't push the door open with my hands on the way out.

It's all pretty basic shit.
