my ex was one of the most beautiful people that I've ever seen (before she got married and had kids), and she had a great personality, IMO, but we didn't have any shared interests and I didn't feel engaged whenever we talked, so I broke up with her.

I definitely would have preferred someone whose company I enjoyed, even if it meant that they weren't my type.

Everyone talks about common interests, but it's not really that important. Opposites attract. Mutual respect is more important. Would rather be with someone who respects me and cares, but is really opposite, than someone I have a lot in common with but could give a fuck less about me.

If we are talking long term that is.
