Topic | Suddenly my D drive only works in Safe Mode. |
Rimmer_Dall 03/14/20 9:21:14 PM #1: | I have no clue what's going on. About a week ago my computer suddenly stopped being able to read files on my D drive. After restarting the computer it just couldn't detect it at all, neither in explorer, device manager or disk manager. A hard restart of the computer eventually fixed it after I checked to see if it could be detected in the bios. Now the problem's started again. This time a hard restart does not fix it. When I start the computer in safe mode I can see and browse the D drive just fine. When I start the computer normally however, the computer first takes about 3 minutes to start, which is about 3 minutes longer than it normally takes, then I see this: I can see the D drive in quick access, but it has no name. It doesn't show under volumes, but I can see an unallocated disk, which I can't initialize because it says the drive doesn't exist. I can see the driver in device manager, which apparently has no issues. After I select either "Rescan disks" or "Scan for hardware changes" all of them vanish into the aether and I can no longer see any trace of the D drive anywhere except for buttons for Pictures and Documents and whatnot that just say the device is unavailable. Seen some strange errors in Event Viewer that I have no clue what they mean. VDS fails to write boot code on a disk during clean operation. Error code: 800701B1@02070008 Hundreds of the following with different service names: DCOM got error "1084" attempting to start the service WSearch with arguments "Unavailable" in order to run the server: {7D096C5F-AC08-4F1F-BEB7-5C22C517CE39} And at some point I also saw: Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued. I can't backup the drive because when I run the computer in safe mode I can't access my external hard drives. Anyone have any clue what's going on? ... Copied to Clipboard! |
