A lot of interconnected fundamentals took a hit in 2008 rooted in how a lot of wealth gain was based on bad business that now came to a halt. Everyone rightly panicked because it seemed we'd built a house on a false foundation. This is a panic attack based mostly on fear of a major economic powerhouse grinding to a halt for reasons largely beyond anyone's control.
