how do mail in ballots work? I live in NY and there's a very good chance i'll be working in another state on election day. if I request an absentee ballot, how soon does it get to me? like would I want to send it to my NY address or the other one?
I'm doing this this year.

It varies by state, but in Florida, you go online and find your voter information and request the mail-in ballot. You can have them send it to your registered address or choose a different address to send it to. It usually arrives pretty quickly, within 3-5 days. You follow the instructions on the ballot and then mail it back. The postage was also pre-paid.
