| parabola_master 02/20/20 8:54:15 PM #76: | I work at a school. We are facing a dichotomy of: a) Kids are kids. Their brains arent fully formed yet. We cannot treat them as adults and therefore they receive many chances to remedy their behavior. Students with an IEP also have that stipulated in a legal document that their disability may be the cause of them acting out/bullying others (yes this happens, and more often than youd think). b) Kids need to know truly adult things, from ableism, racism, homophobia, sexism, classism (you suck because you use the default skin on fortnite and cant afford better ones), etc. I see horrible things happening at school and it makes my heart sink each time.
