In Mass Effect, for example, your character has to choose one of three people to romance. If none of them appeal to you as a player, you get attracted to a non-romancable party member like Wrex, or whatever else your character will have no chance to display their sexuality. I guess what I'm saying is that many times the characters sexuality is defined not by their sexuality but by the avalible romance options. Likewise said options tend to be player-sexual as opposed to any actual sexuality.
