Case in point - PewDiePie is inarguably one of the most famous YouTubers ever, yet in the course of your day, you will likely interact with far more people who have no clue who the hell he is than you will people who know anything more about him than the name. Sure, that might not be the case if you're under the age of 20 and literally everyone you know is the same age, but that's still a fraction of the population.
