It's even implied in the name, bad kids that get scared straight, but I guess people don't know about it at all or what the reference. It works for what you're doing, but I think the lady at the end is right, probably maybe speed it up? Other than that the other jokes worked out pretty well. Maybe relax a bit on the fill in the gap words you use like dude, bro, and shit. It's not really bothersome, but you can work on it and get more crisp and concise. Or you can use it to really push that stoner outlook you have. But these are words you seem to use to fill in or emphasize a point. In a five minute bit it might not show up, but if you go for longer stand ups, people will definitely notice and probably hold it against you. I don't know why I'm even commenting on it, I seemed to notice it. Not like I'm a standup expert or anything, but it can work or work against you is what I was trying to say. Watching the second video, seems like you'll do just fine with the heckling from Jack. I did like the self racism bit, you could probably work with that a bit more. But like everyone said, you're definitely in full control on the stage and don't feel intimidated at all and that's a great first step. --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
