My parents had me riding on the sidewalk in front of the house - which was on a busy major boulevard through town. It is absolutely a miracle that I didn't stray into traffic or fall into the road and get mollywhopped or killed. This was the 70's too, so no helmet, knee pads or any of that shit I see kids with today. My parents were young kids fresh out of college when they had me, so they often did shit that would be considered negligent or stupid today.
