I consider it gross to lock people up and force them to exist in a little cell with nothing or almost nothing to do for long periods of time, especially people who have done almost nothing wrong, or just used drugs etc.

Killing someone isn't a good thing of course, I'm not advocating it. But prison is like torture, which I consider worse then killing (quickly).

If given a choice personally between 1 year in jail/prison, or death, I would take death every time, and would have throughout my entire life.

While I realize not everyone feels that way, and therefore I don't go around killing people lol, that does not affect how I feel about a situation where a person either was going to jail for a long period of time, or was killed.

I despise the survival instinct that causes humans (and animals for that matter) to live even when life is torturous at that point. Life should be a positive experience, and if your going to prevent someone from having a positive life (or possibility of it) for any significant length of time, the option should be given to opt out instead.

Honestly prison should be rehabilitation instead of torture.

Imagine if we put them in a military style boot camp and gave them education, pride, purpose, talents, trained them to be useful for society.

Instead we torture them into emotionless horrors then release them back into the public.
