Topic	Are there any blind heroes in fiction who are actually blind?

Seems less interesting than a blind hero who doesn't see better than everyone else because they are blind. Imagine if they made a TV series of Unbreakable and gave Samuel L. Jackson cyborg impants so he was stronger and more powerful than everyone else and regularly saved the day. Wouldn't that defeat the narrative?
