Her sphere grid was geared/leaning toward more black magic (shock!) so I'd have her with the better stuff with "ga" in the name. Wakka could get ahold of some decent magic too but I hated using him. I only used him for the Evrea battle. Really anyone can be used throughout the game and win. You just need a tank, mage, and something in-between.
