My 4th joycon has begun to drift. It's barely an issue right now, but it's bound to get worse as I know from experience. In a month or two, I'll need to do some work inside of it to get it back in shape.

I loved the two-part controller design that the Wii introduced and I'm glad to see it return in the Nintendo Switch Joycons. The joycons are great and versatile. That they could do what was showcased with LABO was mind-blowing, even if I'm not personally interested in those construction sets. Getting some daily exercise with Ring Fit Adventure has been fun, and exhausting (in a good way). it's a neat idea to have one set of controllers work as two individual controllers for spontaneous multiplayer.

It's a shame all that ingenuity and versatility tend to amount to so little in the shadow cast by stick drift. While it is a pretty damning problem and a common one at that, it's neither expensive, nor very difficult to fix. I've got a couple spare sticks that I grabbed online a few months ago because I knew it was only a matter of time.

Gotta take the good with the bad. Despite needing to fix them once or twice a year, I'm pretty happy with the joycons, though hopefully Nintendo will be a bit more careful about the parts they use in the future.
