Adult

I get that the character is inspired by Peter Pan, but I was never a fan of the child heroes trope. Even as a child, I knew that adults were mentally and physically more developed; more dexterous. A 12 year old with years of training with a sword could be easily bested by an able-bodied adult who had never picked up a sword before.

I guess Link is a magical being, or member of a fantasy race, rather than a human child. He's not limited the way a kid from our world would be. But I'd still prefer him in the 17 to 20 year old age range. Ocarina of Time was a huge leap forward for the series and Nintendo of Japan has fought to regress the series as much as possible.
