Businesses have the right to refuse your money for a transaction. In practice this means you can't buy a load of groceries with 4,048 pennies, but it also gives them the right to refuse dollar coins and $2 bills if they don't want to deal with them.

Creditors, however, have to accept any legal tender given by a debtor.
