I'm fully convinced quickplay just makes you worse. I have given up on it. It's just cheese and spam, even in mid elite smash. Playing with you guys is infinitely better practice, even when we choose maybe characters.

Elite Smash doesn't mean much, I've played many bad people in Elite and good people outside elite. I think quick play is fine for practicing punish game but it doesn't help much with neutral since, as you said, people tend to cheese and spam. It's easy to beat those tactics but most times I don't feel like playing the way you need to to win. It's like you just have to find the one or two ways to beat their spam and use them over and over until you win since they can't adapt
