Topic	Why do Star Wars fans get so excited about the "opening crawl"?

The opening crawl is just exposition, so the film doesn't have to waste 10 minutes actually showing you what's going on. It's just a way of being efficient. But the fans get REALLY excited at the crawl. I mean, and I might be wrong about this (tell me if I am), but just prior to a new film's release, they try and predict what is said in the crawl, and the exact language used. The fuck?
