Your argument seems to be "Don't do the right thing, because it may not be immediately beneficial". You're saying not only that there is "no point" in Impeaching Trump because Mitch will bail him our, but also trying to say that "Independents will feel bad and vote for him in 2020" despite that? What do you think would happen if we just ignored all the things Trump has done, and waited until 2020 to try to kick Mitch out? In the best light, you are suggesting to ignore an evil because of political inconvenience.
