Is your argument "Independents will 'feel bad' for Trump and vote him purely because of the impeachment"? Or is it the "You have to wait until after 2020 to impeach"(In which case Repubs can just say the impeachment is happening our of spite)? Because Trump barely won against someone as unpopular as Hillary. He only has more people against him now, not to mention many people burned for voting him the first time. Impeachment isn't backfiring. Certain people would not be so adamant against it if that was the case. A lot of Republicans are shook for a reason.
