TopicForbes: "gay married men make more money than straight couples"

It's more accurate to say gay couples CAN make more money than the average heterosexual couple.

However, it's definitely not a universal standard...particularly for gay men, who actually have LESS incentive to seek higher incomes since we have to deal with less partners initially judging us for how much we make. On average, we're more likely to critique each other on "sexual market value" (including sexual availability) rather than the top limit of our incomes. There are gay men who nitpick about their partner's yearly income (such as wannabe sugar babies), but they do not count anywhere near the majority.

Many gay men still keep relationship standards similar to most straight men, meaning a lot of us don't give a significant shit about how much our sexual partners make or educational degrees under their belt. We typically care more about how sexually attractive and available our partners keep themselves. Income is still widely considered important to a point, but it's really more in reference to our partners just being employed and not being a complete free-loader.
