Worms.

They improved his health, got him into better shape, improved his motor functions and intelligence.

And he gets rid of it all to so Leela would "love him for who he really is, not what the worms made him!"

But he's still the same dude, esstentially just the same dude in better health.

Would be like removing a pacemaker and going "I want my wife to love me for who I am, not for being a cyborg!"

The worms didn't seem to be doing anything negative to fry and they had mutual benefit in co-existence. Everyone wins.

Fry kicking them out means a bunch if not all of those sentient worms died, those who survived lost all their homes in a forced relocation.

And Fry threatened suicide to do it, that ain't mentally healthy man.

And what if him and Leela end up having kids? Surely being healthy and capable would be massively important towards being a good father.

That episode's moral seemed kinda off the mark.
