I gave you a reasonable logical argument, if that isn't good enough for you then whatever. The closest thing I can give you to proof is that the historic average of Americans having a "great deal of confidence" in police is around 60% - https://news.gallup.com/poll/213869/confidence-police-back-historical-average.aspx, which implies that a majority of Americans approve of the police as they are now.
