He did but I think that was because of his own arrogance. As I recall he wasn't being very cooperative during contract negotiations. Bret had actually said to him that he'd do WWF right on the way out and he was already given Vince's blessing to reopen talks with WCW after Vince couldn't honor the big money deal he signed him to the previous year. At least to me it seemed like they were being honest with each other and not trying to dupe the other party so how things deteriorated after that is somewhat of a mystery to me. I did hear something about Shawn giving Bret shit about how Bret agreed to drop the title (something like "Cool, but I would never do you the favor.") and Bret may have had it out for Shawn but I've only heard that once and I don't know what the original source was. --- "It feels like I'm always wrong."
