I find it hilarious that people here hate on instagram influencers when pretty much all of those things listed are "influencers" in some form. Its all the same shit. They are no different from a twitch streamer or youtube content creater who makes videos of video game stuff. They give you tips and you watch them play, the same way influencers give you tips on how to make your life more aesthetic, fashion trends, or lifestyle ideas like places to visit, things to do, etc. If anything instagram influencers deal with real life, twich deals with video games / virtual world.It's not what they're peddling that pisses people off, A Listers do brand deals all the time and nobody so much as sneezes. What makes people mad is that a lot of these influencers do fuck all. If you have a YT following or something then it's whatever. But all these Tik Tok "stars" becoming famous is ridiculous. Sammie Lewis is a prime example. Made a dumb af video of her drinking tea and talking like a valley girl while banging her nails on a cellphone, now she has 75 k Insta followers, 50 mil Tik Tok followers, and enough money to full ride her through University of Washingon's big ass tuition costs when she was on student aid before she went viral. Meanwhile Joe Blow is a straight A student but is struggle bugging his way through one year working at McDolan's. That's why people are pissed. They feel like these people are getting thousands from nonsense while everyone else works their ass off for half of what they make drinking tea or whatever other stupid thing went viral last week. --- Balenciaga hoodies and Gucci shoes #FreeMelly ...
