If you're going to spring for Liv Tyler, you ought to get more out of her character than showing up for one dinner and ~~Aragorn's~~ coronation. Considering who does it in the novels, it's a really weird decision to change the river thing to be the work of a minor character who doesn't do anything else except make doe eyes at Daddy and convince Aragorn he's worthy of his heritage (which is also not an element present in the novels btw.)
