You guys are cowards. Its just like a car. Except with no air bags or outer shell to protect you. Or a seat belt to keep you from flying forward and getting all the skin ripped off your body.

That's why I wear an 800 dollar helmet, a 750 dollar jacket made from literal kangaroos and manta rays, 500 dollar pants, 400 dollar gloves, and 600 dollar boots.

Some of us are smart.

Yeah dude I'm certain your kangaroo jacket is going to save you when that big accident comes.

Else why would it cost $750?

It's just science, people!

Say what you want, abrasion resistance is a big deal in motorcycle apparel.
Because you might not die from the road rash, but it'll send you into shock real easy.

Let's not even factor in that I wear a chest and spine protector that reduces blunt impacts by up to 40%.

When this jacket needs replacing, I'll get a suit with airbag cartridges.

Until you actually know what you're talking about, just stay quiet.

Lol until you get SMIDSY'd by some old woman turning left in front of you.

All the jackets in the world won't save you head on at 40mph

I commute every single day on a motorcycle. It's ok to admit we don't give af if we die. That's the whole point.

It's happened.
I had a poor helmet, and was just starting at 17 years old.
I was doing 40mph, as a matter of fact.
Know what happened?
I went over her car, hit the ground, and slid.
My helmet saved my head, mostly. The armour in my jacket saved my shoulder and elbows. I had nearly no road rash. Two small spots on my right knee, due to not having leather pants yet.
So yes,my jacket did work at 40mph.

My cheapish Icon helmet did not properly do its job, and I ended up with a major concussion. Although without a full-face helmet, I likely would have lost my jaw, the way I landed on the left side of my face. So there's that.

As it was, I lost some memory and spent a night in the hospital.

With the stuff I have now, I'd walk away.

Be smart, buy good shit, ride defensively, and don't fall victim to road rage. You're small, you never have the right of way.

Done. You probably won't die.
