Just like the occupation of Afghanistan was supposed to end threats like Al-Qaeda and the Taliban right Mexico would be different though since its right next door so the logistics would be easier, as well as much cheaper. Not to mention unlike the apathy or just outright support in Afghanistan, the people of Mexico hate the cartels. If our military came in and is actually making progress the people of Mexico would rise up against the cartels to get rid of them once and for all.
