Is it Death Stranding? It was supposed to CHANGE VIDEO GAMES and create an ENTIRE NEW GENRE.

Okay, you're just making up straw man arguments here since no one said this about Death Stranding. In fact, until the last month, folks still had no idea what type of game it was.

on topic: No Mans Sky

Much better example. This was basically an unfinished demo that they released and then didn't bother actually finishing until two years later. Somehow this is considered some great success story now.

Other better examples would be Fallout 76 which is STILL having controveries and issues almost a year from release and Anthem which has been a mess since release as well.

Kingdom hearts 3 was a pretty big bust

It should be considering how much gameplay has been butchered but sadly it sold very well so it can't be considered a bust.

Duke Nukem Forever owns everything in this topic IMO.

Maybe, but everyone saw that bust coming a mile away. The only folks who were hopelessly loyal to Duke Nukem got that.

Does Shenmue 3 count? Or was that expected to be shitty?

Not even out yet but it's hard to say a Kickstarter is a bust. Shenmue 3 will have a sliver of the budget the first two games have...it's not going to be as good, period.

Outsold the Mega Drive (Genesis), Dreamcast, N64, Gamecube, WiiU, and every XBox in Japan.

In the first month, maybe. That thing was killed off in like two years. I've never seen a company bail on a console quicker.

The Order: 1886

Again, hard to call it a bust when we all knew it was a QTE-fest right from the start.
