The issue isn't whether or not it was in line with her character. If her "character" is just being a distant, shallow bitch who just cares about money, then her character sucks. If all she does after her debut arc is occasionally fight and get knocked up by Krillin, then she shouldn't have even been introduced. Toriyama came up with her and No17 because his friend didn't like No19 and 20; her very existence is contrived. Toriyama didn't like her and 17, either, so Toriyama came up with Cell. From there on, No18 was just absorption fodder; a damsel in distress. Then she does nothing of real relevance for the rest of the series. That's not how you write a great female character. There may have been in universe explanations for her uselessness ("she wants to protect her daughter", "there was nothing she could have done", etc), but the fact doesn't change she's useless. And no well written female character is useless in a story. And when you look at how much stronger No17, her brother, is than her in DBS? No18, the female sibling, remains trash tier, but No17, the male sibling, powers up a ton from just fighting poachers and --- GameFAQs is my LIFE, fam. Luigi's Mansion 3 = GOTY ...
