To a certain extent, responding to public opinion is what we want politicians to do. It is certainly preferable to stubbornly holding on to a bad opinion even as it becomes disadvantageous.

This is how I feel about it and I really don't understand why people act like it is preferable for a politician to stubbornly cling to their own personal views instead of supporting what their constituents want them to

A man who hates minimum wage but pretends he supports it in public is arguably worse than a man who openly hates minimum wage in politics
