What I dont understand, especially after reading all the comments of this ridiculous topic, yes I read all of them, is the fear mongering going on. Like why the doomsaying?

Ill be the first to admit I dont understand computing all that well, I just use the devices, but to say discs are so much better because so many x,y,z reasons without even wanting to give this a chance seems a bit... prejudicial. Yall dont even want to give it a chance?

Discs have Pretty much reaches the end of their road in capacity. We seemingly arent researching those holographic discs that supposedly hold 400-500GB a disc, and instead are going with more reliable hardware in SSDs as that technology develops more... and all TC wants to do is claim how dumb and unreliable it all is? I mean dont we at least owe seeing this tech work first? Im definitely interested in seeing how itll work as Ive heard things from developers that discs are hamstringing development And forcing stuff like Marvels Spider-Man and Rockstars Red Dead Redemption 2 to duplicate their data over 500 times on the disc to achieve those load speeds they are achieving, and as consequence data sizes of games are ballooning out of control.

To reduce load times across the board AND unnecessary data bloat Seems well worth going forward with SSDs, especially over claim that theyll just fail more.
