| Jeff AKA Snoopy 11/20/19 9:14:49 AM #11: | I think like, Cloud was 10 or so when the Mt.Nible incident happened. He liked Tifa but disliked her friends. He followed them up Mt. Nibel basically because he liked her. When she fell and injured herself, Cloud actually did blame himself for not saving her. As they grew up, Tifa started to care more for Cloud, as he matured somewhat and started to talk about becoming the next Sephiroth. Tifa appreciated his desire to protect people and be a "hero", and encouraged him. She also felt bad that it was her decision to go up Mt. Nibel but he got blamed for it. I think it is basically that she realized right around the time he decided to leave that while he did hate her friends, he was a genuinely nice boy and that he was jealous of her friends getting to spend time with her.
