| Topic | I Am Setsuna gets trashed a lot but it's one of my favorite RPGs. |
| Tyranthraxus 11/20/19 12:58:16 AM #7: | I am Setsuna is a bunch of ideas that sound fantastic on paper but do not translate well to a finished product. 1. The music is a serene all piano score. No other instruments, not even drums. This sounds cool at first until you're 20 hours in and it starts sounding like your neighbors annoying kid is practicing piano all day and piping the sound directly to your ears. 2. The art is likewise also very monotonous, consisting of only three environments. Frozen tundra, ice caves, and grey blocky alien ruins. 3. They copied the Chrono trigger combat system but then didn't really do anything interesting with it. It's a clear cut case of people not understanding what made Chrono trigger great in the first place. 4. The loot kill system which is how you obtain basically all your upgrades is stupid as hell.
