That's not what the actual problem on launch PS3s is. A lot of people said a lot of things and did various rituals to try to fix them. Thankfully someone actually bothered to do the research on why they broke a couple years ago and it is now easy to fix them. It's simply two bad capacitors. You replace those and the majority of launch PS3s will work again.
