It'll still be fixed with a software patch, and no other major release has suffered from this. So it's still GF being bad at their jobs. It's technically legit, but not exclusive to Sword/Shield. It's a flaw w/ the implementation of the exFAT formatting type on SD cards w/ the switch. Use FAT32 and you should be fine. Yeah this.
