Yep, the GOP tied themselves entirely too Trump and the whole "populist/nationalist" rhetoric and ideology because they knew they were fading as a party and needed to do something to grasp to power. But it's ultimately going to end in total collapse like we've seen happen every time political parties have done this across history. The GOP post Trump is going to be fascinating to watch, because there's no going backwards to what they were prior to Trump, when you latch onto a cult of personality you need to just keep digging deeper and deeper.
