I am not okay with this. If the new Sword and Shield looked like Nintendo's other AAA games (BotW, Odyssey) then I could maybe have understood why from a development perspective they didn't have time to remodel and animate 800 Pokemon (even if they made a big to-do about all their Sun/Moon models being future-proofed). But the game still looks super basic. It could absolutely have come out on the WiiU. So I'm not buying any of there "please understand" bullshit. If your development team doesn't have the manpower to make the game with all the Pokemon and look like the main console debut that people have been waiting for, then hire more people. Pokemon is the biggest media franchise of all time. You have the money.

All that being said, the list of cut Pokemon is oddly comforting. I was really expecting them to have trimmed out like 200-300, less notable Pokemon and have the franchise move on forever. The fact that they cut out so many and that there a so many notable Pokemon not included, implies that whatever Game Freak says, they are planning on adding them back it. It's still bullshit that it has to happen at all, but I guess it is better than never getting them.

That said, I am not getting this game new. I might by it used later but Game Freak/Nintendo need to see some wallet voting.
