As employees set up the tables to seat the group, a host asked Vahl about his ethnicity. Vahl said he asked why it mattered.

He said the host explained that one of the restaurants regular customers seated nearby doesnt want black people sitting near him.

Idk guys, this just sounds fishy.
So apparently they have a regular customer who has declared to them to not have black people sit near them.
The restaruant oddly agreed and protect this customers interest. Note, not just 1 manager, 2 managers but other staff as well.
Despite this, they would gladly let the party in just after confirming, get this, actually confirming that they are indeed black so they know not to sit them near said customer.

So if the guy said he was mexican I guess they would have sat the party near this racist customer who has stated this aloud before and the staff is onboard with....

If the place had a racist manager who treated them badly I wouod easily believe it, but these extra details are quite odd.
