PvE is what the game really needed as PvP isn't my thing these days, and those CG shorts did a lot of heavy lifting for the world building.
According to the leak (posted in the PC forum if you want to read it), all the new PVE stuff is 100% backstory. So don't expect any new fleshed out narrative going forward about what happens when Winston reactivates Overwatch. (at least according to the leaker)
