If they are well off, it shouldnt be an issue. And depending on the type of party, the cost could be like very cheap. If its just inviting people over, for instance. It might not be more than it would be to have a couple of friends coming over. For like normal gender reveal parties. Also, people may beings gifts. Although most gender reveal parties dont require gifts, some people do bring them. Making it cost effective as thats less stuff to worry about buying. Also, people dont have to come. But they dont have to go to the baby shower, either. Most of the time, when you invite people, theyll let you know if they can come or not. And most are excited to spend time with friends and family. If they dont want to come, they dont have to. But some also like the idea of two parties because maybe they can make it to the gender reveal party, bu my not the baby shower. Or vice versa. So it can help with people who cant go to one for one reason or another. Especially if you have many friends who cant go to one based on the date... In the end, unless there is specific reason not to (like being poor, having no friends, etc), theres no reason they cant... It just a reason to get together with friends, as well...
