But you aren't actually eating a Sloppy Joe. Just like if you are eating pepperoni and cheese, you're not having a pizza. If you eat melted cheese, you're not having a grilled cheese.

So while it doesn't just become some other thing, you're only eating part of it, so it's hard to argue it's the same thing.

But if you eat a burger without the bun, you're still eating a burger.

(I'm not disagreeing with you I just think it's weird how "sloppy joe" is the sandwich and "burger" is, well, the burger)
