Do you think its acceptable for someone to be bitter against an entire gender because they lack confidence and self esteem?

No opinion on that. But I can assume that a someone of that type hasn't tasted success in life. In that position, it's very difficult to keep your head up and maintain a positive outlook. We have a growing epidemic of guys around the world giving up on themselves and losing all ambition to make something of themselves. Telling a guy in that position to suck it up is not going to help anyone.

In response to the topic, I feel the cold truth of this world is that society expects the men to be worth a damn and society expects women to find someone worth a damn. If you guys ever look at investment forums or body building forums, you see the primary motivation for joining the group is not "I want to be healthier" or "I want to feel more financial stable". It's more so "I wanna get girls" or "I want to be worth something".

I can see this being a motivator for sexism in the workplace as when a guy has an accomplishment, it makes him stand out to his peers and attracts girls. If all girls can and do make the same accomplishment, it's now worthless.
