Not like that, no. Maybe you Huawei phone is not letting you read correctly.

Did you read about the canadian CEO they arrested? Basically they have bad relations with some western countries and they lash out by arresting nationals of said country, sort of like NK does but not as bad.

Oh wait, you're going to tell me that NK doesn't do it either?

Well one Canadian in particular was already suspicious:

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-46875807

Details of his early life are unclear. According to British Columbia's online court database, he was convicted 11 times for drug and impaired-driving offences between 2003-2012 and served two jail terms.

In 2010, Schellenberg was sentenced to one year in prison and two years' probation for three counts of drug possession "for the purpose of trafficking."

Shortly afterwards, in 2012, he was convicted of four more drugs-related offences and sentenced to two years in jail, though he only spent 16 months behind bars.

And then he was arrested in China for trying to smuggle drugs:

Prosecutors allege that Schellenberg tried to smuggle almost 500lb (227kg) of methamphetamine from Dalian, in northern China, to Australia, using plastic pellets hidden in rubber tyres.

And I heard the other Canadians arrested by the Chinese were also in drug related crimes. East Asia like I said before take drug offenses very seriously. Although the sentencing to death is too much as a retaliation for what the Canadians did to that CFO.

Those aren't the ones he is referring to. After the huawei girl was arrested, 2 Canadians were arrested. The story they told the Chinese was that they were spies. One was a former Canadian politician who was involved with a Hong Kong based NGO that deals with human rights if I remember correctly. The other ran a company that set up tours to North Korea (Dennis Rodman went through him when he went to North Korea).
