The only thing it seems almost everyone does in China is spit on the street. Even my girlfriend started doing it once we went there. Never once saw her do it in Japan, we're in China for a few days and she's back in the habit. It's not that bad overall in my opinion, I just object to this guy trying to claim street shitting in China is as rare as it is in the US, and is some kind of propaganda. My girlfriend claims everyone has done it at least once (usually as kids). I don't know if that's true (and she is from a rural area), but imagine if someone claimed that in the US, it wouldn't be believable at all.

how sheltered are you, dude

people piss, shit, and spit on the streets in pretty much every major american city (e.g. sf, la, nyc, etc.)

It's not even remotely the same. I lived in Seattle for 7 years and have been to every major American city. Calling me sheltered is weird when I live in another country and have been to most of Europe, all of North America, and a significant chunk of Asia. There is a thing called frequency. It's just like how other countries have mass shootings too, but the US takes it to another level. The US also has a serious problem with imprisoning people, and cops shooting unarmed people. Those things all happen in other countries, but the US is worse than basically any other first world country by a wide margin. That's what we're talking about here. There is a difference in frequency, and it's a large one.
