The closer you are to the end of the line the more likely you are to be among those who get denied. I work in Telecom and we work directly with other Telecoms. So holidays are the best time to work as most other companies have skeleton crews. So I don't mind working the holidays. I also get the holidays themselves off so no biggie there. --- ...
