I've made a point of not posting on CE for the majority of this year, but i'm going to give my opinion on this because the sentiment behind this incident is something that is pretty important to me, too.

It sounds like it was more on the basis of the world being a hateful, uncaring place and she couldn't bear it much longer. She's not wrong at all to feel that way (and I feel the same very strongly, to be quite honest), though she was in the wrong to actually go and attack people like that. Additionally, it's not even helpful to the cause of other people who are trans, so it would have been better to restrain herself for both her sake and the sake of others.

This is a middle class high achiever with support of friends and families throughout all her life. They even flew her to Thailand to help her transition. She comes from a union background and enjoyed the benefits of progressive environment all her life. People who worked with her found her to be entitled and lazy and skip work all the time even before transition. Even her lgbt friends don't like her being pushy judgy about how they should live their lives.

This is not a person who lashed out against the uncaring hateful world because the world actually gave her a damn chance. If she was a straight white man when this attack happened, her behavior is what you would call an incel.
