The creator said something about how he will never let Ash actually become "the best" because he would have to end the series at that point. Which is fucking stupid. Whats stopping him from being the champion of one league then moving on to a new region?

The last time I tried to watch it seriously is when they made Team Rocket serious again and they became somewhat competent in Black/White, but then we all know wtf happened there. Damn shame they weren't allowed to finish the plot line they had mapped out.

Yeah, the 2011 tsunami threw a wrench in things. Around the time they were ready to air the climax of the story with Rocket vs. Plasma, they decided not to air it due to the natural disaster and the episode reminding people of it all over again. Team Rocket went back to usual goofiness but instead of blasting off, they always escaped on jet packs. ---
