Except you can make money quickly in nursing. There are 2 year RN programs. Once you start working, you will make as much (or almost as much) as a nurse with a bachelor's degree. Meanwhile, becoming a doctor requires 4 years of college + med school + residency. A doctor earns the title of doctor after med school but residency is where they get their in-depth specialization training.

One of my best friends from high school has been a full RPN for three years now. They stuck her in prenatal so she made about 45K ish a year. Only just a few weeks/months back did she get an ER job on the mainland

In BC, that is absolute chump change. She was struggling to make ends man and lived in a hovel with roommates who were also struggling nurses.

Maybe the States in different, but I've met friends who were happier studying to be a nurse than actually being a nurse, and the local Uni is no cakewalk.
