Overlooking that the problem wasn't just the prosecutors, jailing prosecutors for anything other than corruption opens a massive can of worms that doesn't necessarily benefit anybody. Likewise personal liability for performance issues on the job is a really bad standard as well, which could open the door for employers increasing suing employees over errors that the company or its insurance policy should eat. More importantly, you seem to be implying that the government has no liability for employing these people or overseeing their conduct, which is absurd. And sure, you could argue, "Well, somebody else wasn't doing their job, so take all their money and lock them up, too," but you're going to wind up locking up a lot of people by the end since when things like this happen, it's usually because a lot of people weren't doing their job right. Thanks. You saved me from having to reply to refute the obvious of why you shouldn't go after prosecution. Again, other than corruption/fraud/deliberate miscarriage of justice (for which there are appropriate avenues), a prosecution's role and alignment of interests are clearly articulated. --- If you can understand this, I'm 2/cosC for you. ...
